Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell (born in New York City) is a American television journalist, commentator anchor and commentator for NBC News based at Washington D.C. Mitchell holds a bachelor's degree in English language from University of Pennsylvania. Mitchell was hired as a reporter at KYW Radio and TV Philadelphia in the year 1967. 1976 Mitchell became a reporter for WDVM-TV Washington DC, a CBS-affiliated station (then WTOP). She became a Washington general correspondent to NBC News two years later. In 1980, she began covering the White House. 1988 became the principal journalist for Congress. Mitchell was appointed the chief White House correspondent in 1992 as well as chief foreign reporter for NBC News in 1994. Mitchell has been a panelist and presenter of the TV show Meet the Press. She was on the panel in the 1988 presidential debates with George Bush and Michael Dukakis. Mitchell was married Alan Greenspan the former chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell has received numerous awards in journalism, among them her Goldsmith Career Award from John F. Kennedy School of Government in 2005. The award was presented to her with the Leonard Zeidenberg Award presented by the Radio-Television News Directors Association in 2004. Mitchell was the first journalist to write about White House stories for NBC News during the presidency of Ronald Reagan in office from 1981 to 1988. Mitchell has reported on a variety of notable reports over the years, such as fiscal reform, the budget and the Iran Contra scandal. Mitchell traveled extensively with Reagan as well as Mikhail Gorbachev to world summits.
